Philosophy
Business plays a key role in all our our lives, whether we own a business,Work for someone or just buy a pint of milk from our local shop. Everyone deals with some form of business or organisation on a daily basis.
The aim of the department is to increase our pupils' understanding of the role of business from local to global scale and their part in this world. Eventually, most pupils will progress to working for a business and for some, may even start up their own business. We see it as our duty to provide training to assist all pupils gather skills that will be useful and relevant to many aspects of their future careers.

Homework is a vital part of learning. We expect all pupils to complete homework on time and to the best of their abilities as homework is integral to all courses, covering new elements and revision of past areas to maintain areas of learning. Homework is given at least once a week and should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete.
Staff
Staff run a number of revision and help clinics during the week.
These clinics exist to assist pupils with difficulties in areas of either Business Education subjects, or to offer pupils extra time to work on Standard Grade projects.

Plans are underway for the joint Business Education and Maths trip to London in June 2009. Letters and payment details have been given to pupils who are interested just before the Easter Holidays.
5 members of S3 Business Management will be attending the Stock Market Challenge in April. Good luck as they try to improve on our excellent performance last year.
Some S2 Administration pupils went on a trip to see a real life working office at John Muir House in Haddington in March.
