In S2/S3 Standard Grade chemistry is taught as well as Intermediate 1/ Access 3.

Departmental News

Each member of staff chooses a ‘Student of the Week’. This pupil receives a certificate and a pencil. Student of the week could be awarded for various reasons including: improved effort, excellent test results etc.

 

Homework

Pupils are issued with homework once a week. Each classroom has a homework board outside the room so pupils can check if they have been off or have forgotten what homework is due.  Homework help is available in room 107 every Tuesday Lunchtime.

 

Accommodation

Top floor of science department. Rooms 106,107 and 108. Also room 12 on bottom floor.

 

Extra Curricular Activities homework

Chemistry catch up club in Room 107 every Tuesday lunch time for homework help or catching up.  Higher revision help is available with Mrs Lockett in room 108 on Thursdays from 3.30-4pm (Jan- April only)

 

 

The top pupil in S3 gets the opportunity to go to chemistry camp in the summer at a university for one week.

Christmas Chemistry lecture for S5/S6 given by the Royal society of Chemistry.

Sci- fun road show for S1 pupils.

Pupil work is displayed in all classrooms and on the praise boards in the Chemistry corridor.
