S1:
While studying the Wars of Independence, our first year historians get the opportunity to visit Edinburgh Castle, Stirling Castle and Bannockburn. At Bannockburn, they get the opportunity to try on medieval clothes and armour as well as listening to a thrilling talk about the battle of Bannockburn.
S2:

In sencond year, the pupils get the chance to visit Lady Victoria Colliery where they go down into a coal mine and learn about the jobs and machinery used to bring the coal to the surface.
S3:
In third year, pupils get the chance to go to Berlin as a joint trip with RME. In the past, we have also taken the pupils on a tour of the World War I battlefields in France and Belgium.
A trip to Poland has also been suggested, where we would visit the Nazi Concentration Camps.
S4:
This year, our S4 pupils are going to the Museum of Flight where there is currently a Cold War Exhibition.
Intermediate 1/2:
In S4, 5 and 6, pupils undertaking Imtermediate exams are given the opportunity to visit Stirling Castle. As they are studying the Wars of Independence, Stirling is an excellent place to visit.
Additional visits to Bannockburn and the Wallace Monumnet have also been proposed.
Advanced Higher:
In preparation for University, the Advanced Higher pupils are given the opportunity to visit the library at the University of Edinburgh. Here, they can spend the day researching their chosen dissertation topic and get a taste of University life.
