Ross High School was established in 1954 and has a strong tradition of providing a high quality of education, of promoting achievement and recognising success for all of its pupils. We set high expectations of attainment, achievement and conduct. We challenge our pupils to give of their best, while supporting them to grow in confidence and independence. We firmly believe that academic success is but one marker of success and we encourage our pupils to develop and value qualities such as compassion, tolerance, reliability, determination and cooperation. We want our young people to value their learning throughout their life and we want their learning in Ross High School to equip them for life.

We aim to provide educational opportunities of the highest standards by

Ross High School sits at the centre of Tranent and we work hard at being positive contributors to our community. Ross High enjoys very strong working relationships with its nine cluster primary schools, as well as the many community groups. We seek to build a partnership between school, pupils and the wider community in which we are all focussed on providing a positive, supportive and sustainable future.

I feel very privileged to be the Head Teacher of Ross High School and have the responsibility of ensuring that the school continues to be a successful and happy place for everyone to work in. I am very conscious that this can only be done if there is good communication which allows us all to work in partnership. This web site is just one strand of this communication.

The purpose of the web site is to provide information about the school and we hope that you find it useful. We will keep adding more information to our web site. Please contact us if you have further questions or suggestions as we welcome feedback. You are also invited to seek further information by calling the school or arranging to visit.
